This 21 day/20 night adventure takes in the best of Croatia, a stunning cruise along the Dalmatian Coast and the fun and food of Oktoberfest in Munich.  This tour has been handcrafted by Cherry Picked Travel and travel guide Sonya Duck (Ducky) from Urban Forage, and will be hosted by Ducky.

The tour begins in Dubrovnik where you’ll have plenty of free time for sightseeing and enjoying the local cuisine. Then onto Split to embark on 7 nights of sailing the breathtaking Croatian coast on a motor sailing ship. Fly to Munich for the world’s biggest party, Oktoberfest.

Day and evening at leisure. You may want to join Ducky for a stroll around this amazing city, or just relax on your own to recuperate afterthe long journey. In the evening, you may wish to join Ducky for an optional informative wine and cheese tasting. You will get to sample local Dubrovnik wines beautifully paired with artisan cheeses, as well as the regions famous olive oil (D'Vino Wine Bar, food and wine at own expense).

Day of leisure.

Perhaps you may like to sip Croatia’s finest wines on a wine tour, shop for souvenirs, take a cable car to lunch, browse the market in the Old Town, walk the city walls, visit a war photo gallery, splurge at one of the fine dining restaurants or find yourself a taverna and enjoy a seafood feast with the locals.
Or, you can join Ducky for an optional meal at a local 'kanoba'-seafood is the order of the day! (Food/beverages at own expense).

Split (B)

Transfer from Dubrovnik to your hotel in Split by private coach. The remainder of the day is at leisure.

If you would like to stay with the group, Ducky will be hosting an optional dinner at Split's premier seafood dining restaurant, Nostromo. The restaurant owners run the town's fish market by day. The prices are comparable to Split’s most popular konobas, and the restaurant’s award-winning chef, Zlatko Marinovic, turns out the bestseafood in town. (Food/beverages at own expense).

Dalmatian Coast Cruise

Split to Makarska (B, L)

Departure from Split harbour towards Makarska at 13:00. Cruise along the Dalmatian coast while enjoying your lunch. Afternoon swim at one of the wonderful beaches. From there, those feeling adventurous can join our optional river rafting excursion or zipline on the Cetina river and meet up with the ship in Makarska in the evening. Overnight in the port of Makarska where strolling along the streets, you will come across numerous churches and other architectural and cultural sites.

Makarshka to Mljet (B, L)

Early morning departure towards Mljet with a stop on the Pelje šac peninsula for a refreshing swim. Afternoon visit to salt lakes in Mljet National Park to enjoy the sun, sea and tranquility of this peaceful island. In the middle of the large lake, inside the National park, we visit the monastery and church on St. Mary isle. Overnight in port Polača/Pomena.

Mon 15 Sept

Mljet to Dubrovnik (B, L)

After breakfast depart for Dubrovnik. Enjoy the nature along the way towards “the heaven on earth”– according to the famous writer George Bernard Shaw. Arrive to Dubrovnik in the afternoon when you can explore on your own or join our guided tour of the city followed by an optional cable car ride up to Srđ Mountain for spectacular views of the old town. Take a walk through Stradun–both a street and a square, a promenade inside the city walls. Overnight in theport of this magical town.

Dubrovnik to Šipan/Trstenik (B, L)

Morning is free to explore Dubrovnik. Discover the beauty of history through numerous monuments, little streets, churches... Aroundnoon we leave this magnificent town and continue our cruise towards Šipan isle or small town of Trstenik on the Pelješac peninsula, where we will swim in the afternoon and spend the night. Possibility of visiting a local winery.

Wed 17 Sept

Šipan/Trstenik to Korčula (B, L)

After breakfast depart for Korčula, the birthplace of Marco Polo. Lunch on board in the Lumbarda bay near to Korčula. Late afternoon arrival where we overnight in port. On this island you can find more legends, tales and monuments than anywhere else. Listen to the story of the stone walls, which were built over two centuries ago. Sightseeing of Korčula and optional wine and appetizers tasting at a local winery before dinning in one of the numerous seafront restaurants or konobas on your own.

Korčula to Hvar (B, L)

Early departure towards the Pakleni Islands for lunch and a swim stop followed by afternoon sightseeing of Hvar, the longest island in the Adriatic. Here we can find the Renaissance cathedral with its original tower as well as the oldest community theatre in Europe founded here in 1612. Hvar offers abundant entertainment, excellent restaurants, bars and cafes that are open long into the night. Overnight in Hvar.

Fri 19 Sept

Hvar (Bol) to Split (B, L)

Our next stop is Brač island. Swimming is planned at the most famous beach in Dalmatia–Zlatni Rat near Bol (the Golden Horn-its gravel promontory shifts from side to side as the wind and waves constantly change in shape). Bol is a typical fishermen’s village converted in to a popular tourist destination. After lunch we will start our journey back to Split where the last overnight is planned. A swim break is planned on route in one of the many bays on Brač island. Enjoy the view of Split Riviera. Possibility to join our guided tour of Split, a monumental city under UNESCO protection. Here we find an abundance of Roman architecture–of special interest is the Diocletian palace.

Early breakfast after which it is time to say goodbye to the crew. Check into your hotel. Remainder of the day at leisure.

Day at leisure.

Indulge in some of the finest seafood, hunt for bargains at the local markets, take in the arts scene at one of the galleries or museums, devour naughty, sticky, gooey cakes, spend the day at the beach or simply find yourself a terrace and take in the views of Split and the adjoining islands.

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Munich. Once in Munich, catch the train to central Munich and onto your hotel. Tonight we enjoy our first taste of Bavarian food and beer and warm up for the fun, food and festivities of Oktoberfest tomorrow. (Food/beverages at own expense).

Set out early with Ducky to the Beerfest to get the best seats in the house! Enjoy a day of food and festivities. The festival consists of lots of beer and traditional Bavarian food, served in huge tents owned by different breweries, restaurants, and other establishments. There is also a fun fair on the ground for those courageous among us.

Full day sightseeing tour to Neuschwanstein Castle and surrounds. Neuschwanstein Castle was commissioned as the private refuge for Ludwig II of Bavaria, but opened to the public immediately after his death in 1886. Now recognizable as the inspiration for Disney's Sleeping Beauty Castle, Neuschwanstein is one of the most popular castles in Europe. The fairytale charm of Neuschwanstein Castle is also felt from the idyllic scenery of the Bavarian Alps.

A day of leisure for you to re-visit the festivities at the Oktoberfest with Ducky in the morning and proost some more. 'Beered' out? Why not try out the Champagne tent? Alternatively, you may like to take the train to Salzburg for the day (2.5 hour train trip). Or fit in some shopping and sightseeing and join us later in the afternoon at the festival.

The choice is yours.

Morning sightseeing tour by bicycle. Join Ducky on a sightseeing tour of Munich by bicycle. This 4hr tour takes in most of the major highlights of Munich, with an all-important stop for lunch in one of Munich’s famous beer gardens. Afternoon is at leisure for you to re-visit the festivities of the Oktoberfest or explore more of Munich city.

Take the train to the airport for your homeward flight.

Australian passport holders do not require a visa to travel to Singapore, Croatia or Germany, however do require at least six months validity
in their passport to enter these countries.


All prices are quoted in AUD, per person twin share and are correct as at 25/11/13. Subject to availability andcan change without notification due to fluctuations in charges and currency.

Departure dependent on minimum of 15 bookings. If tour cancelled all monies paid will be refunded in full, or can be put towards the next tour date.
Earlybird discount valid for bookings with a paid deposit by 31 January 2014. Discount is $200 off tour price.


Deposit of $2,500 per person within 7 days of booking. Final balance will be due 90 days prior to departure date (8 June 2014).
All prices are quoted for payment by direct debit. Payments made by credit card incur an admin fee

Entrance to National Parks: prices vary from $15-$22 per person depending on season and park
Full Board supplement: $180.00 per person/week
Drink supplement: $31.00 per week–incl. choice of 1 drink-glass of wine, 1 beer or 1 soft drink with lunch
Water supplement: $39.00 per person per week-includes 1 x 5 litres of water per person per day-to bepaid on the spot
English breakfast supplement: $78.00 per week incl. 2 eggs, bacon, tomato and mushrooms, or fruit & yoghurt, or similar (regular Continental breakfast included in price of the cruise includes: coffee, tea, milk, glass of juice, cereal, bread, a variety of spreads-butter, honey, jam, soft cheese; daily additions such as ham and cheese or boiled eggs, frankfurters, salami etc.)

Price based on Category A+ ship, in an “on deck” cabin. Should this cabin type or ship type not be available, another cabin type or ship type will be offered at a reduced price.

The Captain reserves the right in changing the route in case of bad weather conditions. Cruise is operated by Katarina Line. Katarina Line reserves the
right in cancelling departures with less than 10 participants and changing ship name if need arises. Guests are obliged to follow ship rules (found
in written form on the ship) especially with regards to bringing drinks on
board. In the case of bad behavior Katarina Line/Captain reserves the right in asking clients to disembark. Due specific mooring conditions and requirements in some Croatian ports, Katarina Line ships are moored side by
side, making it necessary for the clients to cross from one ship to another with gaps in between ships in order to get to the shore. In such cases clients need to take special care when crossing and do this at their own risk.
Crew assistance will be given to those needing and requesting it.
